Wolves are nice price v Foxes
Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hoping to build on their impressive 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend when they take on Leicester City at Molineux on Sunday.
Bruno Lage’s have been involved in very low scoring games on a regular basis this season, but the Foxes’ visit, with such a poor defensive process, gives them a chance to continue finding the net.
Leicester earned a respectable 2-2 draw against top four pushing West Ham United on Tuesday evening and will be confident of hurting Wolves in transition, if they can produce a more convincing defensive display.
Wolves are value favourites, considering the performance data and their recent form they look a fairly big price.
Process
Jose Sa has had an incredible debut season in the Premier League and Wolves have conceded just 17 from 31.1 expected goals (xG) against.
Allowing 1.35 xGA per game compared to Leicester conceding chances at an alarming rate of 2.04 xGA.
The Foxes are performing like relegation fodder in defence with injuries contributing to what has been a disappointing season, compared to what they have achieved under Brendan Rodgers in recent years.
The Foxes have overperformed to find the net 36 times from 31.6 xGF this season, although they are still dangerous and hold a greater threat than the hosts in the final third.
Wolves have been making steady progress this season and it feels like they could be set for a very strong finish to the season under Bruno Lage.
With the uncertainty that surrounded the club after Nuno Espirito Santo’s exit last summer, Lage has performed very well and has Wolves competing towards the top end once again.
European football is not out of the question but this is the type of game they need to be winning to keep those hopes alive.
