United value at Carrow Road
Manchester United travel to Norwich City on Saturday in their pursuit of the top four. Ralf Rangnick named a much changed side for their midweek 1-1 draw with Young Boys with this game in mind. Dean Smith’s men have picked in recent weeks and are just three points from safety as a result. However, the Canaries are still rock bottom of the division and given the also improved fortunes of those around will need to produce something special to climb out of the drop zone before the turn of the year. United have been far less than convincing so far this season, but the sheer weight of the quality in the squad could make them a bet here, with the Asian Handicap potentially enhancing value for bettors.
Process
Norwich rank rock bottom for attacking process and have hugely underperformed to score just eight goals from 14.9 expected goals (xG), but they are still trending as an attacking contingent that will be rooted to the foot of the table. The club is run with sustainability in mind, with the goal of consistently being one of the 26 best teams in England, they have achieved that in recent years but are still struggling to adjust in all areas to the step up in standard at England’s top table.
Only Newcastle United have a leakier backline in their underlying process and you cannot allow the calibre of the United frontline clear goalscoring opportunities. Which looks set to happen at Carrow Road on Saturday.
United are sixth in the table but rank 13th on expected points, they have not covered themselves in glory with the performance metrics but we all know the squad is capable of much better. They sit fifth for attacking process and 16th for defensive, I will not be persuading anyone away from a both teams to score punt despite it not being my angle into the encounter.
Goals?
Neither defence is looking assured so overs if anything for this one.
- Norwich have scored in four of ten.
- Norwich have conceded in seven of ten.
- Norwich have seen both teams score in four of ten.
- Norwich have seen over 2.5 goals in five of ten.
- Man U have scored in eight of ten.
- Man U have conceded in seven of ten.
- Man U have seen both teams score in five of ten.
- Man U have seen over 2.5 goals in six of ten.
Norwich have their work cut out but have the fighting spirit to test United.
